Keep youself busy, don't spend all your time thinking about food. I plan out my next day's menu the night before and prepare what I can. I simply know what I am going to eat and therefore do not have to worry about it. Plan ahead. Do something that's not all about you.
I find that if I have a variety, something crunch, celery or cucumbers or mini carrots give me the crunch I need. I eat fruit in season and it helps with sweet cravings. I add cottage cheese and diced apples to my salad instead of dressing. I boil a dozen eggs at a time to have them when I need.

I look at inches lost, my doctor's positive feedback, increased energy and endurance levels, firmer/toned body AND I go by how my clothes fit. I buy smaller size clothing and try them on often. As the clothes start to fit, this motivates me to continue my workouts and healthy eating.
This helps with the obsession over the scale and looking at other ways to measure progress.
For some reason, I have some obsession with winning. I used to be addicted to Yahoo!Answers, and I was obsessed with getting points and graduating to a higher level. Well my work has blocked y/a!, so now I've become obsessed with spark points. I go through the spark points page, and do everything I can to get as many points as possible on any given day. And i refuse to cheat.
Not only am I more educated, but I'm getting my 8 glasses of water in everyday, Making friends/buddies through message boards & blogs, logging more cardio than ever and I have lots of POINTS YAY.
