I have 5 different slowcooker pots of different brands, sizes and shapes. They are great! If I have a big dinner, I can put the meat in the largest, and various vegetable dishes in the other ones. It pretty much insures that everything will be ready when guests arrive, the kitchen can be cleaned up, and everything but the bread is ready at the same time. SparkRecipes has lots of wonderful crockpot recipes too!

You might want to try the crockpot liner bags that are available for easier clean-up. They're not foolproof, and I don't always remember to use one when I use the crockpot but always wish I had remembered. I think they're worth a try.
