I pack my lunch to take to work every day. I have my mini frozen meals in the freezer. They are really just leftovers from the nutritious meals I have cooked at home. This week I ate fiesta soup, black beans & rice and lasagna casserole. I pack some veggies, a piece of fruit, and a treat to go with my entree. The treat could be a few animal crackers or a cup of low cal pudding, etc. Usually about 350-450 calories for lunch for me.
I have an insulated lunch bag and the frozen entree keeps the rest of my lunch cold til noon.
If you have back & neck injuries or disease swimming or treading water is the way to go, if your Dr approves it. I can do so much more in the water then I can do on land & these last three months I have been saving my lunch money & take-out eating dinner out money & putting it into a YMCA fund so I can continue to swim after the outdoor pool I currently use closes this labor day. It is amazing the money I saved by brown bagging my lunches for work & not eating out or doing take out. GO ME!!!
Have started preparing brown-bag lunches for the next day right after dinner the night before...so its set in stone what I will eat. At breakfast the next morning, I log what I am eating and I "Pre-log" my lunch...it helps me stick to it.
After dinner (and preparing tomorrow's lunch), I log dinner and "Pre-log" an evening snack.
I do not know whether it is just the benefit of pre-planning or the guilt of cheating on myself....this works for me.
