A tasty, interesting base for a spread or cheese. Whole grains and lots of non-grain seeds, plus (sigh) some enriched wheat flour. They're not as sturdy as some crackers, so you have to spread gently, but even my husband (who hates almost anything whole wheat) likes them.

Magnesium protects us against heart disease, lowering blood pressure, protecting against diabetes preventing the recurrence of kidney stones and improving the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. Magnesium supplements also strengthen muscles and work with calcium to ensure strong bones and protect against osteoporosis. If taken along with a diet rich in magnesium sources, they can protect against a range of illnesses. Magnesium and calcium should really be taken together.Consult your doc!
Food that contain magnesium including whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes.
If you want whole grain products look for the yellow stamp from the whole Grain Council on the product. Multi Grain Cheerios, Low sodium Triscuits & Old Fashioned Quaker oatmeal have the stamp. Quiona is considerered a whole grain, but is a seed with two times as much protein as other grains. Hulled Barley has the same type of fiber as oatmeal.
I love cheese and crackers. With Laughing Cow cheese, string cheese, and Kraft 100 Calorie cheese packs, all that was missing was a decent low cal cracker. Special K Multi Grain fills the bill. 17 crackers for 90 calories. Sometimes I take the 100 cal cheese pack, 1 piece per cracker and microwave for 15 secs. Appetizer, lunch, whatever, Mmmm!
