I've been trying to eat cleaner. No additives, chemicals etc. But I love light pancake syrup for an oatmeal topping as well as a pancake topping. Although they are low in calories, it's not clean. So now I take a tablespoon of pure maple syrup and add it to a 1/2 cup to a cup of blueberries and pop it in the microwave for 30 to 40 seconds. The berries burst open and the maple syrup adds a bit of thickness. Instant blueberry syrup that is healthy for you!
MORE INFORMATION:
You can use any type of berry, but I like blueberries because they make the best sauce-like consistency.

Whether you are using real syrup, low sugar syrup, jam diluted with water on your pancakes you can get more flavor per bite and consume less syrup if you don't pour the syrup over your pancakes.
MORE INFORMATION:
Put your syrup in a shallow cup or pitcher. Dunk each bite into the syrup. You really do get more flavor for less syrup per bite.
Instead of pouring condiments directly on your food, put it on the side of your plate and dip your food in it. Use pancake syrup as an example. Cut your pancake into pieces and dip a small portion of etch piece into the syrup. Make sure you follow the servings guide.484
I love pancakes with syrup and can not eat sugar free so what I do is make whole wheat pancakes and add Original Applesauce to the top. This saves me about 200 calories while still giving me the sweetness I love...Enjoy!!
