The first two bites of anything are the best... after that you are just eating to eat... so when I REALLY crave something sinful... I eat just the first two bites... then pass on it... it takes care of the craving and keeps me from feeling guilty

My dietitian tells me I can eat whatever I want - not to deprive myself. But she also cautions portion control. What I have learned is that the first two bites of something tastes the best. SO I try to stick to two bites. That way I can still get a taste of it but not overindulge.
I joined Weight Watchers over two years ago. I lost 90% of my weight through them and still practice many of their ideas. One I truly love is the Three Bite Rule. When we crave something the first bite is really memorable. The second bite is almost as memorable as the first. The last bite savory and sums up the memory. Therefore all we need are three bites. Not diet is ever broken over three bites.
It is so easy to take a bite or two when cooking. One of my secrets is to keep the scale right by the stove. That way if I'm tasting that roast or chicken I can weigh it first. It is an eye opener when those bites start to add up.
