Turn off the radio and TV. Listen to some of the CD's done by various motivational speakers on a variety of self-esteem, healthy eating, and other topics. These are available on Ebay, Amazon and sometimes free on websites. Fill your mind with good messages rather than negativity of media.
Do Not Let Your Spouse Adversely Affect Your Plan!
If your spouse is obese and does little or nothing about it, do not let him (or her) affect YOUR plan! Stay on track with diet and exercise and let your Spark community inspire and encourage you to continue!
Self motivation and the motivation of online friends
I listen to audio books while working out. It makes me workout longer because I want to get to that next chapter. Then I have certain books I only listen to while at the gym so it gives me the motivation to go workout because I want to finish that book.9
