Put down the frozen, processed, low-cal, low-carb, low-fat franken foods! When I cook with just a few quality, fresh, whole ingredients, I find I am satisfied with a smaller portion. Nothing beats fresh produce, in-season, from a local farmer. Look for quality organic local meats and keep your costs down by reducing your portion sizes. You'll lose weight, put better fuel in your body, and support your local food systems, all at once.

MORE INFORMATION:
Local organic food is better for our bodies, and for the earth. The food uses much less energy to get from the farm to your plate, and thus has a much lower environmental impact. A recent study found that organic food is healthier, and helps regenerate quality soil.

    I grow herbs in my garden and nothing creates more flavor in my dishes than fresh herbs so I agree with you about using fresh produce. I too enjoy shopping at the farmer's market.
