Buy extra fruit (bananas, peaches, berries, etc.), cut up and freeze. Use the frozen fruit instead of ice in smoothies...makes them cold and doesn't strain your blender as ice cubes may.

    I do this and have gone through 4 blenders in 2010. Anyone know of a REALLY good blender for frozen fruit for frozen smoothies.

    Using frozen fruit can make a frozen smoothie, too!
