I never spend coins. Instead I have a separate piggy bank for each type of coin (used to just have one). I can only take coins out when the bank is full, and then I have a bit of "extra" money.

I currently do this with one money box and when its full it gets banked to help go towards future bills that need paying.

Keep a change jar and when you spend cash get the change back and put it in the jar. Never use change to pay with stuff. Sooner than you'd think you have 10, 20 or even $50 in just a few weeks.
when your at the store try to use you cash and keep your change then at the end of the day take all the change from your pocket, wallets and purses and put it in the container you will be suprised how fast it grows
Whenever you pay for something in cash, keep the change in a jar somewhere. Similarly, you can pick a denomination like a $5 or a $10 and every time you get one you put it away. I've done this with a $5 bill, and ended up saving enough in 6 months to pay for a spring break cruise!
