Many grocery store receipts show the amount of money "saved" by using coupons, or value cards. I save my receipts and at the end of the week or month, I deposit those grocery store savings into my savings account.
For me this is a pretty painless and easy way for me to remember to set something aside each month for a little nest egg.
If your trying to save money on your grocery bill then try a local Latino or Asian dominate store. My husband and I found a Spanish grocery store that has great prices on fish, chicken, and fresh turkey. The store even had marinated items for under $2 a pound and they were good quality products.
Also check out local fish markets if you live near the coastline. You may have to get up early in the morning or buy some items in bulk but the savings are amazing.
You'll be able to cut your grocery bill in half.
