Fruits And Veggies

Good Morning All, I'm finding out that I cannot eat Fruits and Veggies after lunch...It brings my numbers to high if I eat them for dinner or for an evening snack. And that includes my favorite, Apple Cidar ! ! !

  • The right veggies add very few calories. You might try some different veggies, prepared in new and different ways. - by STILLFLYIN
  • Apple cider is full of sugar, alright! I have it as an occasional treat. - by MEADSBAY
  • Apple cider should be avoided like any other fruit juice - it is full of natural sugar. I love this mix with a little salt and pepper on it - a handful of grape tomatoes, cucumber pieces (with skin on), 1" pieces of yellow, red or orange bell pepper. A great afternoon snack that I almost guarantee won't raise your blood sugar. Also, when you do eat fruit - first eat 1/2 to 1 oz of raw pecans, almonds or walnuts. They will be great for your cholesterol, and the fat before the sugar in the fruit will help level out the blood sugar to keep it from spiking. - by DEBBYC63

Stick with the actual fruit instead of fruit juices. You'll get more fiber that way.

Have you tried eating your fruit BEFORE you eat lunch instead of after? I always eat my fruit before my meals. - by JDBD17
  • Apple cider is going to affect your sugar levels same as soda pop. stick to green veggies, I'd say, and they shouldn't affect your sugars to much. - by KITTYF54
