When I go shopping I always go to the fruits and veggies section first and pick up ... anything. It saves me from wandering into the less healthy stuff and it ensures that I always have fruits and veggies around.

When I go grocery shopping, I am surprised by the kinds of foods I don't buy anymore. Ice cream, chips, soda. I see them in other shopping carts & wonder why people are wasting their nutrition dollars on junk when they could have yogurt, oranges, and lemon water instead. My tastes HAVE changed!

I recently re-joined a produce co-op in my area. I have also learned about a local "produce rescue" that allows the public to pay $10 for and shop for up to 60 lbs. of produce! There are both organic co-ops and those that offer a choice or "regular" or organic for a few dollars more. Look on the internet and you ay be surprised what is in your area. The "produce rescue" operation turned out to have a location once a month a mile from my house and I never knew this before
