I have a delicious “from scratch” chili recipe that calls for some unusual ingredients, but it takes forever to assemble.
To save time, I just add these items to a box of chili seasoning mix.
Here’s what I add-in – you can add as many or as few as you like.
For liquid add Beer, Beef Broth and Brewed Coffee.
For an interesting flavor add a Tablespoon each of Cocoa Powder and Brown Sugar.
For beans add a can each of Pinto Beans, Black Beans, Light & Dark Kidney Beans.
Also add canned Tomatoes, Tomato Sauce, Onions, Green Pepper & Lean Ground Meat, like you usually would.
I simmer it all day in my slow cooker.
