ACT as if... I sometimes have a hard time getting 'out the door' to take my walk. I have to PUSH myself. I tell myself: "Just walk for 10 minutes and then you can go back inside." Well, ten minutes usually turns into 30 or 40 or even 60 minutes. And I'm ALWAYS glad I just pushed myself out the door. My sister is a runner and says the same thing applies for her too. She'll tell her husband she is going to run for 20 minutes and he'll say: "So, see you in 30 or 40 minutes then."

I find that with exercise, the hardest part of accomplishing it is simply the act of gettng started.
I trick myself in to "just 15 minutes of cardio", but once I've started - completing the hour is no big deal. The hardest thing is convincing myself to put on my shoes & shorts, and just GO. If my body is whining - thinking "only 15 mins" makes it easier to simply get started.
Now is the time I must put my big girl undies on and just do this. I can't act like a kid who wants every poor food choice out there. That attitude will not get me to a healthier place. I'm not a kid. I'm a grown up who has all the information and tools I need to make this happen. It's time I start acting like it.
Eating 5-6 meals a day; getting adequate sleep, eating veggies and fruits daily and healthy food choices at every meal and snack, working out 4-6 days a week, staying organize, shopping adequately, journaling, let others know what I working towards and staying busy on SparkPeople!
I don't act like a heavy person trying to lose weight. I act like the weight I want to be, meaning I visualize what that person eats, how much they eat, and how they exercise. I consider the things they would or wouldn't do and act accordingly. It keeps my process forward thinking.
