I find that if I take the time in the morning to wear something nice to work, fix my hair, and apply make up I feel better and my day goes better. I just feel it gives me a energy boost even if no one notices.

Yes ... this is so true! I have a chronic, systemic condition and many years ago I too discovered that getting dressed every day, regardless of how well or ill I felt, helped keep my spirits up. It's enjoyable to think of myself both as a canvas and an artist as I dress each morning.

  • thank you for this post. i have some serious health issues, just got out of hospital, and have an important follow-up appointment with doctor. i made myself have a bath, wash my hair, and put on a decent outfit. YOU ARE SO RIGHT~ anything is better than a track suit and running shoes!
