When I go out to shop, I always put my purse in the trunk before I leave. That way when I arrive at the store and I go to get it, I remember to bring in my enviro-bags that are also in the trunk. On the way home I put my purse in the trunk again. This stops me from going through a drive through, no matter how hungry I am! Good for the environment on the way out, good for my body on the way back!

That is super smart! I don't have a "trunk" since I drive a small SUV (Ford Escape), but I could definitely put my purse & shopping bags back in the cargo area behind the rear seat!

it is a good idea. i use this trick all the time. it's also a safety issue because i know of some woman who leave their purse or anything else of value on their passenger seat. this makes an easy target for unhonest people.
I've figured out that if I put my purse (with all my cash/debit cards/etc.) in the backseat or even the trunk of the car (any where that I can't reach) it makes going to a drive-thru for a snack impossible. And usually I'm too lazy or rushed to stop and actually go in.
It's a win-win, I save money and avoid the calorie-dump of drive-thrus!
This has decreased my pre-work (and sometimes post-work) Starbucks consumption a ton.
Summer produce is overflowing--and cheap! Whether you grow it or buy it, it's easy to preserve your food so that you can save money and eat better long after the harvest is over.
