your hair gets build up from using the same shampoo all the time.. to get rid of build up you can simply add a couple table spoons of backing soda to a 1/4 cup of your regular shampoo and apply to dry hair and let set, for several minutes....then of course rinse hair in shower like you normaly would. Be sure to use a good conditioned afterward beacuse this takes all the yucky and some mosture out of your hair. Condition and rinse like you normaly would.. and you will notice a healthy diffrence
Last year i read an article about how shampoo leaves a residue on your hair and it advised washing your hair with baking soda. i started doing that every day and by the end of a month, my hair was no longer a dry, brittle, frizzy mess. and it isn't greasy either! my hair is shiny and curly now!

of course, you have to have curly hair to begin with! i dissolve 1-2 tbsp in warm water and use it just like i would shampoo. you can buy a 5 lb bag of it at costco for 6 bucks. think of all the cash you will save on shampoo! and you will have great hair too!
