To clean cast iron cookware use a dime sized amount of dish washing liquid along with a tablespoon of course salt and a few drops of water (use a damp papertowel or dish cloth). It scrubs thru stuck on particles and is less corrosive than using soap pads. Works on other dishes and cookware as well.
Not only is cast iron a consistent way to add iron to your diet & a great way to exercise your arm muscles as you lift the heavy pans but it also saves you money on energy. Cast iron needs less temperature to heat up, heats up evenly and retains heat long after you turn of the stove, saving energy.
