I have the problem of setting goals too high, losing motivation, and giving up. So this time I decided I would use baby steps to achieve my goals. I set a goal of being able to walk at 3.5mph for 1 hr. The first day I walked as long as I could at speed. The next day I made myself walk at speed 3 more min. than the day before. Every day I added 3 more minutes until I reached my 1 hr goal. I have done the same with all my exercises. I start with what I can do and then add to it in small amounts.
Increasing by small amounts helps keep you motivated, it also helps you not hurt yourself by overdoing it right at the start of a new workout program. Though small amounts may not seem to matter daily they add up quickly. D1 10min D2 13 D3 16 D4 19 D5 22 D6 25 D7 28 Day 7 almost tripled Day 1!
