No Tears Chopping Onions

I love onions, but hate crying like a baby when I chop them.

But I recently read that if you slice the ends off the onion, peel the skin off and place in the freezer for 10 minutes before slicing or chopping, it freezes up all the juices (the stuff that makes you tear). I tried it and it works.

After all these years of crying, who knew?

    Since I must chop some onions this afternoon I am headed to put some stemmed one in the freezer now. Hope to chop them with clear eyes later.
