A recent Chinese study found that people who had 3 or more cups of green or oolong tea/day had 5 years less wear & tear on their cells. Specifically telomeres were studied - they're the protective end caps on DNA strands & they shorten everytime a cell divides - the shorter the telomeres the more aged your cells are. The most avid tea drinkers had significantly longer telomeres than the people who drank less than a cup/day. It's thought the antioxidants in tea help keep them long.
