Every time I workout for a half hour, I put a quarter in my "Workout Fund." When I've saved up some money, I buy a new small piece of fitness equipment (e.g., yoga mat, balance ball, workout video). If I workout for an hour at a time, I add seventy-five cents and an hour and a half earns $1.50!
I am lucky enough to live close enough to work that I can go home for lunch every day. Since I sit at a computer most of my day at work, I use my lunch hour to be active. I usually eat something very simple to make and then use the rest of my hour to pick up the house, load/unload the dishwasher, make the bed, etc and sometimes even get some strength training done. Getting this done during lunch also means more time for fun things after work!
Once I'm at work, half my lunch goes straight to my desk, where I eat it gradually. I start eating lunch about two hours into my shift and finish two hours later. Then I take my lunch break and eat the other half. Spreading my meal out keeps me from getting ravenously hungry, which makes me less likely to eat impulsively, from the vending machine or from the fridge when I get home.
