One of the hardest things for hubby and I when dieting (in the past) was denying ourselves any sweets (even though normally I don't have much of a sweet tooth). This time I have been buying Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches - they are delicious, 140 calories, have fiber, and most of all - because we have one every night for desert - we no longer feel deprived. Just last night hubby said to me "I'm really glad you bought those - cause I would have never tried them otherwise".

My secret for continuing to lose weight is that I eat ENOUGH food. I do not feel deprived.I always eat ENOUGH so that I am not miserable, nor am I uncomfortable. So I'm losing slowly, but still i feel that I am making progress and getting close to my goal.
Do not try to eat TOO LITTLE or you will lose heart and you won't be able to keep going. Figure our your caloric needs.
If you have a craving for food that may be considered junk or unhealthy, eat a little of it so as to not feel deprived. Then follow up with a healthy snack such as apple with nut or sunflower butter, yogurt, etc..Drink water and Then eat a small mint or tictac or brush your teeth. Usually I like to have a glass of wine or two throughout the evening, but it sucks up a lot of calories! I recently replaced wine with herbal tea, and I'm surprised to find that I'm not feeling deprived. When I can sip on something all evening, I don't miss the wine at all, and mint tea is nice to avoid feeling hungry as well.
