Eating in the middle of the night has been a big problem for me the past 3 years. I have started buying several of my favorite fruits (cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon, and strawberries) and preparing them so they are ready to eat. The ready-to-eat part is why I go for candy or ice cream (in addition to their tastes) so I can't make an excuse not making a wise choice. I have also found that changing to the healthier snack is helping me to eat less at night or to avoid the kitchen period.

Protein first thing in the a.m helps me feel satisfied longer than eating a carb, I would guess that carbs break down into sugars that you turns into fat and so many of us have sugar cravings that you tend to over eat and crave carbs over healthy proteien and complex-carbs .

Makes perfect sense! I cannot eat alot in the morning , but i make a shake of somekind. Either a protien shake or a fruit smoothie that i add greek yogurt to tons of protien and im good and full for a long time!

I agree. I often have a protein shake in the evening. One to get in all the protein for the day and two to keep me full so I don't get the evening munchies.

I am an emotional eater among many other problems as well. I found out that if I get hungry in the evening and feel like I need to nosh, I get some smoked almonds and cranraisins and mix them into a 3rd of a cup, and snack slowly on them. Very satisfying to me, and helps me get more fiber.244
Every Sunday night I like to make a list of all the stuff I will eat for the next 7 days by browsing spark receipes and staying within budget I go to the store with an exact list of everything I need, I dont stray from the list which helps me avoid buying unhealthy fooda that I dont need.
