I buy on sale and have gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays however, when I have a gift that I've had for an extended amount of time, I bless someone with it mostly church members as we are blessed to be a blessing and it is better to give than receive. The look on their faces is priceless!

Take advantage of those charities in the malls that will wrap your gift(s) for a small donation. If you wrap the way I do, you take EVERY opportunity to have someone else wrap your gifts. If a store offers free gift wrapping, I take advantage of it. But it's really great to have use a charity to wrap your gift for you. The charity gets money, and your gift looks lovely!
Buy yourself a gift card. When your favorite restaurant or grocery store has specials on gift cards (ie purchase a $50 gift card get a $5 gift card free) purchase them for yourself. If you shop there anyways, you know that you will use it plus you get an extra $5
