I can't imagine not having chocolate or other desserts. What I do is take something I love and cut into several pieces. Taking note of how many so I can divide the total calories by that number. That way I can enjoy the item 1 piece at a time and know exactly how many calories I've consumed. This works great on candy bars!

Instead of sticking your hand into a family-size snack bag, use a small sandwich bag to ration out a small manageable portion. By doing so, you will be able to monitor your intake a lot better. REMEMBER to step away from the family-size bag once you've rationed out your portion!! 4
