Keep Your Receipt With The Book For Major Appliances

I have in the past 3 years used more product Warranty's than ever before. In the case of my dishwasher I was able, by having my receipt handy, to show the authorized repair man the date that I had purchased the machine. The new motor it needed was covered and we just paid labor costs.
A savings of Hundreds of dollars. This also happened with our Recumbent Bike. I try to buy good quality things but sometimes they break. I now make sure to fill out the warranty card. I didn't for the bike but they let me do it after it broke by sending a copy of my receipt. Keep them handy.

I store 90% of my shoes in the original boxes that they come in. I always put the sales receipt in with the shoes. If for some reason I need to return them or question how old my workout shoes are, I have the receipt right there. No digging through a mountain of other receipts looking for it. I also have done this with books that I purchase – especially cookbooks – I put the receipt in the back of the book. Sometimes I just want to know how long I have been using that cookbook.
I check major purchases for online prices before shopping for major purchases like appliances, vehicles, furniture or electronics. Then I watch the sales and know if something is really a great buy or just a sales ploy. I recently saved on a vacuum cleaner, a wireless printer, and a pressure canner.
I have been wanting a bread machine for quite awhile but they are too expensive brand new. I went to a second hand store today and bought one for $13 and so far it is working!!! I was able to find the manual on the internet. So far I am tickled pink with my purchase.
