Cheaper Egg Beaters---Egg Whites

emoticon Instead of buying high priced egg beaters or egg whites in the fancy carton it is actually cheaper to buy farm fresh eggs or eggs at your grocery store and separate them even if you don't find a use for the yolks.

If you need to get rid of the yolks ---if you have a cat, raw yolks are actually good for cats. Mix a little with your cat's food. We started to make our own cat food when we read a book by a veterinarian who says there is almost no cat food that is really good for them. We boil chicken legs, cut up the meat into bite-sized pieces. Then we mix an egg yolk plus water, unflavored gelatin, other vitamins (sorry, I don't have the list with me now) and salmon oil. We started by adding just a little of the sauce to her chicken, then increased it gradually. She is a picky eater, but usually gobbles it right down. We also add it to fresh cooked or canned turkey or tuna for her. The vet told us she should weigh between 9 & 10 lbs. She went from 13.5 to 9.6 lbs over several months and has held steady there. (That's like a person going from 135 to 96.) - by STORMY724
  • I purchased a cute lil chicken shaped egg seperater. I save the yolks because they, mixed with a lil bit of olive oil, makes a great conditioning wash for your hair! - by SASSENACHSLAVE
