  • That's an incredibly helpful "Secret to Success" - by G8R10R
  • Me too! The evening cuppa without a gobbling up all the snack in the house is tough (especially when the spouse is heating up custard for himself).

JAMERAND's suggestion is great. If it's really serious snacking, could split the calories into 4 meals a day - and have a second dinner of snacks :D

It's probably stating the obvious, but I find the easiest way to stop myself snacking is to clear the house of the goodies: If the only thing I can get my hands on is bland protein balls, then I'm not going to bother - even though I may open and close the fridge 15 times and grumble incessantly about my munchies.

If I'm truely honest, snacking is a 24hr issue for me (only worst in the evenings)... even talking about it is making me dream of naughty goodies - no snacks available in the office though luckily.

Good luck everyone, you can do it!

  • me too, and i have done a good job the last 2 nights, even with snacks in the house, but, it s a constant struggle, also, got on the scale this morning, pooooooo, shouldnt have done it, i thought i was doing so good - by SOFT_VAL67
  • I have the same problem. I have found if I eat something sweet, (mandarin oranges, apple, or even a spoon full of Soy Dream, after dinner it does help me with the late night munchies. Somehow my brain wants dessert even if my body doesn't need it. - by ONLY1LIFETOLOSE
  • SAME PROBLEM!!! We should start a group. - by STEPHENTDAILEY
  • I choose something really yummy like cottage cheese and blueberries or apple or banana and then I eat it really slow to enjoy it and keep myself busy I also do things that keep me busy with my hands so that reaching my mouth becomes harder and an inconvience re: cross stitch, computor work, knitting whatever
Hope this helps - by KATYBUG48
  • I also struggle with this. Evenings make me crazy because I want to eat. I do better when I am busy at night doing something active. I also make sure that I save some calories for the evening for something that I like to have as a snack. I don't crave junk food but I do crave bread or a sandwich. I find a toasted low cal piece of bread with a slice of tomatoe helps with the evenings and isn't a lot of calories. emoticon - by JAMERAND
  • I understand! Me too. Don't despair - with all this help, you will succeed! - by SANDALWOOD108
