When you are making up your grocery list, plan your meals along with it! This way, you are only buying exactly what you need for the week and you won't have extra food, bought as a spontaneous purchase, lying around waiting to be eaten. And always, always eat before you go shopping!

When I go grocery shopping, I am surprised by the kinds of foods I don't buy anymore. Ice cream, chips, soda. I see them in other shopping carts & wonder why people are wasting their nutrition dollars on junk when they could have yogurt, oranges, and lemon water instead. My tastes HAVE changed!
How have you changed your grocery shopping habits?
When I do my grocery shopping without my kids I like to park the farthest from the grocery store. When I'm done loading my groceries into my car I return my shopping cart back into the store. It's one less cart that the cart guy has to bring in and I feel good knowing that I got a little extra steps in for the day.
