I started with 10,000 steps around my home to see how to break it up throughout the day. Now I have used the odometer throughout the community and have 4 different routes, which is awesome as it is a different workout 4 x a week AND I can utilize the same routes while working on 5k and 10k runs.

I put the pedometer on, walked around the property found out how many times I needed to do this in a day to reach 10,000 steps. Then I started bringing a plastic bag and now I know that thruout the day I need to walk around 10 times and I end my day with a VERY clean yard and over 10,000 steps
It is nice as now I don't have to have the pedometer on to know how many steps I take especially if I don't have appointments out of the house that day.
