Keep healthy snacks handy and in plain view. When hunger sneaks up on me I reach for the first thing I see, so I keep healthy snacks on the counter and on the front of the shelves in my fridge and cupboard with the not so healthy things pushed to the back where I'm less likely to reach for them.
I also keep healthy snacks in my purse, like granola bars, nuts, or fruit jerky. Then if I find myself hungry while I'm out running around I can fight the temptation to go through a drive through.
Today I was with my 80 + girlfriend and my husbands friend is also 80 and both are just as alert and healthy . I hope I can live that long and have an alert mind. You see people that are fifty and their minds are slipping. I hope with what I do in keeping healthy and keeping my mind working by reading, being involved, that I can live to a ripe old age alert.
