If you're having trouble staying motivated while walking outdoors, grab the leash! I find that when I walk with my dogs I last longer than when I walk alone. I tend to focus more on them when I take them for a walk, than on myself.

My absolute FAVORITE exercise is walking my dog as we both work toward being thinner and healthier. I wasn't looking for a dog when I found him, but apparently Someone knew what would get me motivated to move. When I won't do it for myself, I WILL do it for Buddy! Anyone can do this, and any pace is okay, so those of us who are really heavy can feel successful from the get-go. I've lost 40, and Buddy's lost 3! YAY US!
The only thing you need is a willing four-legged friend, a comfortable leash for him/her, and your regular walking gear. If you don't have a four-legged friend, do a little research and consider adopting from your local shelter. You won't regret it!
