Whether you are using real syrup, low sugar syrup, jam diluted with water on your pancakes you can get more flavor per bite and consume less syrup if you don't pour the syrup over your pancakes.

Put your syrup in a shallow cup or pitcher. Dunk each bite into the syrup.
You really do get more flavor for less syrup per bite.
