Go do something else for 10 minutes. At the end of 10 minutes, if you are still craving that item, go another 10 minutes. Repeat as often as necessary. Usually what ends up happening is that you become engrossed in an activity and the craving disappears.

I do this regularly. It helps so much! Especially with chocolate... And I reeeeaaallly need to avoid that chocolate! :o)
