Mashed Potatoes

I find mash potatoes to be very boring and tasteless, so when I cook them now I'll add a head of cauliflour and boil them together then mash them. Put them in a casserole dish sprinkled with cheddar and broil till the top is browned, Great flavor and everyone loves them. emoticon

  • Try adding a spoonful of horseradish to your mash, or use half potatoes half parsnips and mash together. There are lots of ways to liven up a plate of mash; chopped herbs like mint, scallions or red onion(chopped),a splash of mushroom ketchup, worcester sauce, soy sauce or balsamic vinegar. My favourite is cheese, but to cut the calories I add chopped onion, then sprinkle a little cheese on the top and put the dish back in the oven or under the grill til brown.Yummy emoticon emoticon - by DOTTYDRUID
  • Try using rutabaga the same way - a unique taste and can be made into great potato cakes................ - by NAKIOMA
