When I walk, I exercise my upper body. It looks like I'm doing walking Jumping Jacks-4 countsarms come together over my head, 4 back down. Elbows at my ears, raise above my head, palms up at my shoulders, lift over head. Curls, etc. I look ridiculous, but I'm seeing a difference and saving time :)

When I am walking on my treadmill I wear the wrap around hand weights that they use for kick boxing on and really do a lot of upper body movement. I have used my heartrate monitor to compare and it increases my HR and Kcal burned significantly. I just keep doing arm exercises that have my arms above my heart. Huge difference. I can be walking at 3mph but burn over 300 cals in 30 minutes with the added weight and exercises.
