Don't Ask, They'll Tell

When my husband was first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, I would ask him his "numbers" every time he tested himself. I quickly realized that this was stressing him out in a situation that was already very stressful because my reaction often reinforced his anxiety. Now, I never ask. I let him tell me, and he does. As a result, we are both more relaxed about his health. (His A1C was 6.1 last time it was checked. He's doing great!)

When he was diagnosed with diabetes, his A1C was over 13 so his A1C reassures us both that he's truly taking care of himself.

YMCA HAS A OBESITY PROGRAM AND ITS FREE

I AM A MEMBER OF THE YMCA AND I HAVE A FREE MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE OF THIS PROGRAM.. I HAVE TO MAINTAIN GOING TO THE Y AT LEAST 2 TIMES A WEEK AND IF I DONT THEN I WILL BE KICKED OFF. WE HAVE MEETINGS EVERY TWO MONTHS TO SEE WHAT PROGRESS WE HAVE MADE.. IF YOU DONT HAVE A MEMBERSHIP TO THE AND WANT ONE CHECK OUT YOUR Y NEAR YOU AND SEE IF YOUR Y HAS THIS PROGRAM.. IT IS WONDERFUL.. YOU HAVE TO GO TO A DOCTOR TO GET A RECOMENDATION SAYING THAT YOU ARE OBESE OR OVER WEIGHT.
