Try to avoid refined foods. Shop the fresh parameters of the grocery store. The freshest foods are all around the outside of the store. There are very few things that you need to eat in the inner isles.
When shopping the stores on the inner parameters, notice the sugar content on labels. Aim for 4 grams or less per serving. This awareness will help you stay the course on choosing cleaner foods with less imitation flavorings and strange unnatural ingredients. It's an eye opener for sure.
