Make an enormous amount of cut-up fresh veggies. Put them in a glass bowl. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Then add to any protein you have sautéed to doneness. Veggies stay colorful and do not overcook. I use broccoli, onions, green peppers. (zucchini and mushroom cook faster, put them with 1 min to go

    I've always loved cooking veggies in the microwave. Their color stays and it takes less time.

    This is my method also, I precook my stew vegetables especially onions this way when addding to soups and stews as well as stir fry. I keep already cooked chicken and pork in the freezer in 4-6 0unce amounts and add the meat shoe string size and it is heated by the vegetables.
I use ginger root in my stir fry also. Pat in Maine.
