Walking my dog was my first foray back into exercise. Monday she and I are going to start the C25K. Could be interesting.

In the summer, my husband and I go out to the Rail Trail in Cincinnati and while he's riding his bike, I walk our dog. My dog loves the change of scenery and keeps me going. It's good for both of us.

My dog(s) have actually saved my life -- dogs demand to be taken care of (if we're lucky enough to have raise them right!0 SO WHEN I"\'VE BEEN DOWN AND OUT, THEY ARE THERE TO 'TAKE CARE OF ME.'
Most shelters are happy if volunteers come and walk their dogs. If you are inexperienced with dogs they will pick the cutest most patient dog for you to walk with. Not only will you get exercise, but the dog might motivate you to jog part of the way or move at a quicker pace. He will love you for every step the two of you are exercising in the fresh and open nature!
