I am now training our puppy to "Sit" and to "Come" I will have him "Sit", give him a treat when he does it, then I get up and walk across the room and have him "come" to me. I do this daily for 15 minutes. In the end, I have gotten in some more exercise and I have a well trained dog!

When I decided to start using SP my main focus was to get moving again. My goal is to walk 30 minutes a day ( which I use to do once upon a time). I approached it like training a new puppy. Repetition, repetition, repetition. Do it over and over again and eventually you have a new learned habit. The REWARD is not a puppy treat but a new, healthy lifelong habit.
I like to pick out different strength training exercises every time I do my workout. It keeps me from getting bored with doing the same things all the time. I think it also makes sure that every muscle is getting a workout. Sparkpeople has a great number of different exercises to choose from, so it's easy!
