In order to force myself to eat slower and ENJOY my food, I choose to eat when possible (here at home, anyway) with one of my daughters' colorful toddler spoons. I take smaller bites, chew things up better before swallowing, and I feel as though I eat more simply because it takes me longer to eat.

By using a toddler spoon for soups, and other foods that require using a spoon size really does matter. This small size allow you to enjoy your food more and also allow you to take in small bites. When you take in smaller bites you tend to enjoy eating more and it last longer making you feel fuller as well. 4
Use small utensils to eat your meal. I use the junior size spoon and fork that was used for my children when they were toddlers. This slows me down. For that special ice cream treat, I use the baby spoon. Of course, I do this at home only, as my husband would be embarrassed by his wacky wife.334
instead of using a large spoon to eat a meal ( rice and beans) I use a smaller spoon and sometimes one the girls old baby spoons - it helps to slow me down and takes longer to eat then using a regular soup spoon or tablespoon.
