I wish that I could really say that my PCOS is basically on the back burner. I know that I can't because if I do, then I will just continue to feel really down on myself about my weight gain and how I can't lose a single pound.

This is a good secret of success I wish I could apply it to my life but it is very hard to stay positive when you do the things the best you can and you don't see the results you wish...

I have PCOS and my doctor wants me to stay Metformin and have a no crab no red meat diet. The only crabs I can have is vegs and some fruit. This is really hard for me. Does anyone else have any idea what to do?

@Texaslatina ... I've never dun the low carb deal, never seen a reason to do it and have had no issue getting the weight off (I average 150 grams of carbs a day now, so am maintaining my weight loss). Everyone woman with PCOS is different thus what works for one won't always work for another, for me I found higher good quality carbs high protein and low fat worked the best for me at my height of weight loss (I'm now in maintenance mode do to stressors in my life).

Do you feel that you have to stay to low carb in order to lose weight? I'm just wondering b/c I have had great success in the past by doing Atkins. I lost 100+ lbs on Atkins back in 03-04 and have kept it off for years. I then got stuck and transitioned into calorie counting and lost another 25 lbs using diet, exercise and phentermine! I kept that off for another 2 years with the help of diet & exercise. I gained back about 10 lbs and then went on nutrisystem and lost that and more for a total of 15 lbs. Now, I find myself having gained 22 lbs since my lowest weigh in and the more I exercise and weight train, the more I gain?? I'm worried the only "weigh" I can lose weight is by low carbing?

If my run isn't going so well I will change my route so I'm making more turns or direction changes. That way I'm not discouraged by distance. I run "just to the corner" then "just to what ever landmark" I see. Soon enough my run is done and I did the full time I set out to do.
I have a notebook in Evernote with a separate note for each restaurant I visit and what the best options are for my diet plan in each. I don't write down the "best options" that I wouldn't like either - just what I'd actually order. With my smart phone, I have that custom reference to keep me on track.
