I like green bananas, but they don't stay pre-ripe long enough for me to eat more than 1 or 2, so I was always throwing away banana bunches. One day I decided to refrigerate the green bananas to see what happened. Well after a day the skins got all spotted and brown and i just left them alone. After about a week I went to throw them away and noticed they were still firm. I pealed one, and - surprise! They were just as green as when I put them in. Only the skin was brown.
You might wan to omit bananas from your diet due to the high number of carbohydrates or sugars in the banana.Yellow or brown” bananas contains more sugar than green ones which have more fiber. It’s not that banana’s are ‘bad’ for you, it’s just that they’re not good for losing weight as they do contain a lot of simple sugars. Berries are better. If you are strictly monitoring sugar & caloric intake the biggest thing is glycemic spike with a banana. If you can't give them up, eat in moderation
My family will not eat ripe bananas, they prefer them a bit green. So I place the ripe bananas in the freezer peel and all. Then as I need them I grab what I need & place under running warm water to remove the peel. The bananas thaw very quickly & work great in banana bread, muffins, or even pancakes.
I use the frozen bananas in smoothies - the perfect way to sweeten it up. Recently I found that my family loves to eat sliced frozen bananas - another great treat for the summer. Hope you enjoy! 20
