Effortless Exercise, Hit Your Stride

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

When I am walking or biking, after 34 minutes I hit my stride. I am into my zone and into whatever audio book or TV show I am watching. The time flies by and I have done an easy hour of exercise. I find a longer exercise session easier than several short ones.

I do the same. If I'm outside walking, I listen to musicals. For me it's like watching a show in my mind. If I'm using my elliptical, I watch a movie or tv show that I don't allow myself to watch at another time. If I want to find out what's going to happen next, I have to get moving on the machine.

I also find this sto be true, but I don't think it takes me quite as long. Another athing to do when on the treadmill is to turn out the lights. I find it much easier if I can't watch the clock, and if the TV or music is going, I don't need light anyway.

I'm working up to a longer session. I've gone from 10 minutes to 15 minutes to 30 minutes now.

I can understand that you are into audio books but how in the world do you watch a small screen tv program while walking?

I agree... this is the same for me. I love watching television while I'm on my treadmill, because before I know it... I've walked for an hour or more & not even realizing it!

I hit my stride after about 15 minutes so I 'warm-up' until my energy kicks in. I workout at a gym that has a movie theatre so there's a new movie everyday... It's great!!
SEWSPARKMEUP 7/22/2010 11:50:00 AM

I know what you mean. I usually feel like the first 10 minutes on the recumbent bike are harder than the rest. Get past that and it does seem easier.
