Using a pedometer is an easy way to get exercise. I am trying to get to 10,000 steps and I have turned it into a game by challenging myself to add a mere 50 steps to the previous day's total. emoticon

I am on my 4th Omron. Been wearing them for about 4 years or more. Very acurate and easy to wear. Sometimes no pockets can lead to being creative.
SHOYER 2/22/2012 10:55:00 AM

I'm on my third Omron HJ-112N I believe. The first two ended up being washed (accidentally) too many times. Enough of the display disappeared that I wasn't able to keep track. This model records steps, aerobic steps, kcal burned, and miles traveled for a rolling 7-day period. You enter your weight and stride length, as well as date and time before using. I now wear mine (in front pocket with clip fastened on pocket front) in place of a watch. I am "lost" when I don't remember to wear it.
NWLIFESRC 2/22/2012 2:41:00 PM

I never leave home without it and feel naked without it.

Neighbors lost a substantial amount of weight doing this. They keep the weight off by continuing to use their pedometers.
PATIMAGE 7/17/2014 11:46:00 AM

I love my fitbit - My goal is 7,000 steps a day, as I have a desk job. With a 20-minute walk during my morning break, I can get 2500 steps in. I always have a pocket, so it stays safe and secure. (I have had many clip-on pedometers that found their way into the toilet because they were too big for the pocket!) The FitBit seems to know the difference between regular steps and slight body movements. Highly recommended!

So when you wear your pedoms and get 10,000 steps a day do you also do an exercise routine or just get 10,000 per day?
My insurance Federal BCBS gives free pedometers for signing up for their healthy lifestyle. It is all free (well included in your premimum)
VON728 2/25/2012 11:47:00 PM

DENISEFULLER 2/23/2012 11:41:00 PM

My problem is that I keep getting pedometers that fall off or reset themselves during the day. I'm thinking about getting one of those pocket pedometers. Anyone have suggestions?
BARB5009 2/23/2012 9:56:00 PM

all the comments seem great. but my question would be can i wear it when i do the elliptical trainer? or when i am riding the stationary bike. will they count as steps? thanks! emoticon
TERRYDALE1 2/23/2012 8:18:00 AM

Also been wearing one for years...lost without it ..I must make 10,000 per day and am aiming for 12,000
DONNAGRACE1164 2/23/2012 12:31:00 AM

Love seeing my total number steps for the day... or how close I am to my goal... need a new pedometer though because mine keeps resetting itself... but feel like I'm missing something when I'm not wearing it... emoticon
WIIMII9726 2/22/2012 8:30:00 PM

I also use the Omron and was wondering if it is wearing out. I put a new battery in it and it still goes back to zero during the day every once in awhile. I have a future sis-in-law and she has had hers for a few years and has not had any problems. I may consider getting myself a new one then give this one to my gf so she can see the steps she does in a day.
GUITARWOMAN 2/22/2012 8:11:00 PM

WEGENERCS 2/22/2012 5:22:00 PM

I'm with those of you who feel underdressed if they have left their pedometer at home. My goal is 10,000 steps/day. Find myself looking several times daily for feedback. It definitely helps.
JUSGETTENBY42 2/22/2012 12:10:00 PM

Love mine..... wear it everyday for the third year even on vacation! emoticon
CINDY132 2/22/2012 10:14:00 AM

Something I used to do. I need to dig mine out of storage and try again.
GINGERVISTA 2/22/2012 9:11:00 AM

Omron is my pedometer of choice. I had a GREAT one that wasn't too much $$$, but moved & then couldn't find it. Then one was offered through Groupon for $10 with steps, miles, calories & grams of fat burned, & a clock & I LOVE it!. On the back it says GOsmart HJ-203.
LYNCHD05 2/22/2012 9:05:00 AM

i just bought a New Balance pedometer at Target and it seems to work well. the only complaint is how small some of the numbers are. I can read the steps, time, etc...just the small numbers indicating what each screen is are small. I have to keep referring to my guide. Congratulations to the 12,000 plus steppers!
PRIVATEEYE1 2/22/2012 8:26:00 AM

I've had a couple of pedometers and both didn't work properly. What brand/brands do you like and have faith in????? I am going to buy another one but I want one that works properly.
