When you're making iced tea...recycle the tea bags. Tea bags are great for reducing swelling around the eyes - I think it's the tannen. Pop the tea bags in the freezer and when you use them it's like an instant spa treatment!

We used to use them warm to clean the gunk out of my oldest eye when he was a baby because he had a blocked tear duct.

Slices of cucumber also cool and soothe the eyes, sunburnt or not, and will soothe other areas too. Another remedy is to cut a lenghth off a spike of an Aloe Vera plant, slice it through down one side so you can open it out to double the area, then apply to the sunburnt( or itchy, dry, inflamed or burnt)area. It cools beautifully and leaves the skin soft and supple. If you can chillit for a while in fridge or freezer, it will be even more effective
