Even though my husband has diabetes and I don't,we work as a team when it comes to what and when we eat. It has made his transition to low carb/sugar eating a lot easier and both of us are much healthier because of it. Together we achieve more. What affects one, affects all at our house.
We have learned to substitute fruits for sugar snacks, veggies and lean proteins for heavy sandwiches and water for sodas. In the period of 6 weeks, he has gone cold turkey with sugar and soda. I am so very proud of him!!!

World Diabetes Day — Take Control of Your Diabetes
November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and November 14 is World Diabetes Day. These global events will help improve the education and care of everyone touched by diabetes. To support these efforts and help you take control of your diabetes, we've created a special section within Diabetic Connect. You'll find a FREE diabetes awareness booklet, information and resources about diabetes, and you can give a child insulin for a week by simply watching a short video!
Here is the link to their site...Diabetic Connect.. Very Informative Site.
Forgive yourself for slip-ups and use that positive self-talk! Remind yourself of what's important about your goals and be your own best cheerleader (remember, cheerleaders don't lie down on the field and cry when their team is behind, they tell everyone to FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!)
